Our Verdict

The Beautural 1800-Watt offers strong steaming performance, but only when it works. Due to its many malfunctions, it could not reliably make it through our thorough testing process with any sort of consistency. As such, it earned underwhelming scores across nearly all of our test metrics. When working, we found this model to be rather exceptional with regard to ease of use, where it utilizes a very tech-forward digital display that we haven't seen in any other irons. But otherwise, we don't recommend the Beautural.

Bottom Line Numerous malfunctions kept us from recommending this model for its otherwise strong performance and great digital displayA little clunky, but an impressive iron overall, with strong steam performanceGood ironing performance and detailing work, but uneven heating keeps this iron from being even betterThis budget-friendly iron suffers from awkward handling and leaks a bit, but it compensates with its impressive heat and steam capabilities and convenient retracting cordPortable for traveling, but lacks the punch needed for regular use

Our Analysis and Test Results

We avoid bias by designing objective testing procedures and conducting scientific tests, where data produces results and product recommendations. That said, the Beautural 1800-Watt was a product that we wish had functioned without errors because when it actually worked, it wasn't half bad.

Performance Comparison

Ironing Performance

In our ironing tests, responsible for 40 percent of each model's overall score, the Beautural 1800-Watt did an impressive job. The only caveat to this performance is that this iron frequently malfunctioned by leaking all over our fabrics most of the time.

When the Beautural 1800-Watt does work, it's easy to effectively iron out wrinkles in cotton, linen, silk, and polyester. Unlike many other models, the Beautural also offers a polyester setting.

Steam Output

Accounting for 25 percent of each model's overall score, our steam output test metric measured and evaluated the Beautural 1800-Watt's steam output, quality of steam, and any leaking.

Unfortunately, the Beautural 1800-Watt did poorly in our steam tests. It leaked the majority of the time that we used it, and the heavy leaking consistently left undesirable wet spots on garments.

Heating

For our heating test metric, we applied thermocouples to five locations on the sole plate of each iron and logged heating data over 5 minutes. We analyzed the peak temperature, as well as the ability to maintain peak temperatures. The Beautural 1800-Watt offered average heating performance and abilities when compared to the rest of the test group.

Detailing

The lack of an accentuated nose, combined with a heft of 3.3 pounds contributed to the Beautural 1800-Watt's below-average performance in our detailing test metric, which contributes 10 percent of each model's overall score. The handle is textured with little bumps to aid grip, but overall, it is a hefty model that doesn't lend itself well to handling tighter corners, even if it glides smoothly over larger areas.

Ease of Use

The Beautural 1800-Watt did well in our ease of use test metric primarily for its great digital LCD display. The display makes it easy to navigate through the different settings, and its operation is rather intuitive.

Should You Buy the Beautural 1800-Watt Home?

We really liked the Beautural 1800-Watt for its strong ironing performance and ease of use; however, with so many serious and frequent malfunctions, it could not reliably make it through our comprehensive testing. Due to its reliability issues, we simply cannot recommend this model over other more capable models that did not suffer from malfunctions.

What Other Irons Should You Consider?

Although we really want to recommend the Beautural 1800-Watt for a cool display and good performance when it works, we can't recommend it over other top-performing models that won't let you down. Our top pick, the PurSteam Scratch Resistant 1700W, not only gets the job done and done well but is also great for those on a budget, with its affordable price tag. If you were really looking forward to an intuitive and easy-to-use model, then you should consider the CHI Steam Titanium. It lacks the cool LCD display of the Beautural, but offers an easy to use dial with clear indicators for every setting and more importantly, it didn't suffer from malfunctions.
